Making it into the Minnesota Girls State Hockey Tournament is what every youth and high school team strives for each season. One of the most indescribable feelings of the Minnesota girl’s hockey program is elongating the season. Having a dream in becoming the best team in the state of Minnesota. In other words, the Minnesota Girls Hockey season flies by. That is why having just one more game or one more practice is impactful for our athletes.
For all the Minnesota hockey players, parents, coaches, and enthusiasts out there, how big of an opportunity it is to be a part of the hockey experience at the Excel Energy Center? For example, imagine being in front of a roaring crowed, having your goal get “replayed” on jumbo Tron, and skating on an NHL sheet of ice.
Getting to play in the Girls State Hockey Tournament is very challenging, so let me break it down for you.
The Andover Huskies defeated the Minnetonka Skippers for the Championship, with a game winning goal with only 1:40 s in the 3rd period. The Huskies had an outstanding record of 30-0, making them undefeated for the girls high school 2022 hockey season.
The Warroad girl’s hockey team defeated Proctor/Hermantown for the Class A 2022 girls Championship. Warroad came out on top with a victory of 6-1. They ended the season with a record of 26-3-1.
